While in West Hollywood checking around The Grove, my girlfriend @ninamclernon and I made a flying visit to the famous luxury Parisian tea room, Ladurée.
Ladurée, as the name can tell, is a French luxury bakery and sweets maker house which first opened in Paris near the Place de la Concorde in 1862. It is one of the world’s best-known premier sellers of the double-decker macaron 😍😋
I’ve already talked about The Grove before in my latest post Through my eyes: Hollywood and I must say the ambience at Ladurèe was perfect, such a good combination of colours and elegance! I think it’s the perfect mix of the American lifestyle and the French joie de vivre.
Macaroon towers teeter on shelves that showcase sweet treats in pretty pastel shades. If you are a macaroon lover, you will already know Ladurée or you’ve heard about it before at least. We were happily surprised to find one in Los Angeles!
We stood in a breaf line while looking at all those yummy macaroons and pastries. It was such a tough choice! There was a very impressive selection of macarons, over ten flavors, in fact. In addition to the macarons were rows of colorful tartes and tempting butter-striped pastries. We ended up being really good, just two macaroons and a pastry.
The macaroons were an explosion of texture as well as flavor! It brought a smile to my face after the first bite, What a pleasant way to begin.
Last but not least was the iconic Ispahan as it’s mandatory to try the macaron from its birth place. A ring of plump raspberries and almond goodness hid even more goodies inside—rose creme and litchi. Not too sweet, nuanced and full of surprise, this is the epitome of French dessert perfection! Such a beautiful creation!
Would recommend getting a box for your macaroons or eating them as soon as possibile! Why waiting anyway? 😛
I recommend you stop by for a spot of afternoon tea or grab something sweet to takeaway. It will be such a sweet treat!
I’m giving Ladurèe 4.5 hearts out of 5!
