Today on the blog I’m gonna talk about a special place in Malibu and this is gonna end the circle of the series Through my eyes: Exploring LA.
Deep in Malibu on Pacific Coast Highway there’s a historic fish shack known as Neptunes Net. The restaurant is a must for seafood lovers and for those making the trek up north on the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles. It’s a notorious biker hang out, so expect to see a lot of bikers and surfers since the beach is in front of it!
My girlfriend @ninamclernon and I came here at lunch: I was craving seafood for days so I was looking forward to it!!
There are two counters to go to, one for fresh seafood, and one for fried seafood and burgers. My girlfriend ordered a pina colada and a cheeseburger with fries.
On the other hand I had a sample of fresh seafood and a basket of fried calamari and shrimps coming along with lemonade.
The calamari and shrimps were deep-fried and came out with fries and coleslaw. The shrimps were almost sweet and the calamari was soft and not chewy like it can be.
After lunch they also have a small frozen yogurt stand with three flavors and assorted toppings, not that exciting but at least it hits the spot on a nice hot day!
Last but not least, Neptune’s Net has been featured in countless television and film productions; just to name a few Point Break, The Fast and the Furious, Gossip Girl and Iron Man 3. Here’s a clip taken from one of the movies, can you guess which one?
Come here and soak in all the California vibes, sit at a picnic table outside, and enjoy the view of the ocean from across the highway. Neptunes Net is great experience, the fish is fresh, the atmosphere is fun and the beach is right across the street, definitely add it to your list if you are visiting Malibu at lunch time!
I’m giving Neptune’s Net 5 hearts out of 5!
