Many of us aren’t able to start the day without our beloved coffee fix. In Italy, coffee is part of our culture and most of us are proud of it.
I tasted coffee from different places and personally, I think coffee in Italy is perhaps much an equivalent as what’s available in many other countries, but because Italy features a more artistic coffee culture, it probably got many more people who are better at it. What’s your point of view?
Starbucks decided to take on the challenge and on September 5th they opened the Starbucks Reserve Roastery inside the historic Poste building in Piazza Cordusio, Milan.
Some of you might not know, however it was really the Italian espresso culture that inspired Howard Schultz, former CEO of the company, to create what Starbucks is today!
I must say, when I heard about the new opening I was really curious. At first I heard people waiting in line for hours before getting inside, so I decided to give some time. A couple of weeks later, I checked it out. Sorry if I post this only now, I have been planning to publish it sooner.
Starbucks transformed the historic post office to house its new roasting facility, cafè and retail store.
The retail store offers items unique to the Roastery. You can purchase rare and award winning coffee beans as well as your favorites.
The location offers some pretty massive perks, considering it’s a roastery and not just your regular coffee stop. Over 115 drinks are on the menu as well as an affogato station and an on-site bakery where you can get your delicious baked goods and coffees while talking in the sights of the large silos and other coffee machinery.
If you love coffee and even if you don’t, be sure to visit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery in Milan. Prices in my opinions are a little too pricey compared to Italian cafè standards. Everyone loves cappuccino but I suggest you to try something new. I ordered the Nitro Flat White, for example. A velvety blend of espresso and cold, nitrogen-infused milk!! Overall, it’s definitely a good idea to go there and check it out by yourself, you will be amazed!
